1983 XV500, my build for the 2nd annual econobike build off here in Columbus. I won Best in Show this year with this bike, Peoples choice last year with my XJ which is well documented here on xjbikes. Updates eventually at Midwest Motor Life-- http://midwestmotorlife.com/

No doubt about Kevin you certainly think outside the square!
Worry a bit about me scrotum on that seat though.

Nice! I was going to try to make it to the show but with all the storms/power issues just couldn't get there.

Sweet monkey fritters! Congratulations! I can't believe the political incorrectness of the "No fat chicks" sticker didn't prevent you from winning though... I guess none of the judges were FCs.

One of the organizers/judges is a female, probably 6'1", 200+. She thought it was hilarious, and everyone that knows me knows it's there for a laugh.

Congrats! Seems re-working the 80s Viragos is the current "in" thing. Lots of the 750-1100cc versions at Bike EXIF.

Congrats. Very interesting and nice. How much fuel do the tanks hold? I have to second the scrodom worries (might want to put a catchers mit on there at least) , but I like how the seat spring works. 8)

On second thought, I think it would be funny as hell if you put a small catchers mit on there and functional too.

About 1 1/2 gallon capacity. Ive had this Virago pushed up against the wall for a few years now, I really didn't notice the resurgence. This is an 1983 500, the only year they made the 500.

I really like the way Virago's look when bobbed. I've even seen a board track style that looked great, it had spoked 21" rims front and back. They used the original hubs and had them laced to the 21" rims by a custom shop.
