Looks like a fun project. But not for $400 IMO. :)

It wouldn't take much to get that bike looking nice again. My bike started out a lot worse than that. Mine was just a frame, motor, frontend and wheels. I only have about $800 into mine. If you can get it for $300 I would grab it. That right cover is worth $100 alone.

Exactly. The right side cover IS worth at least $100; and the rest of it is a $200 bike MAX. And I would only give him that much if you can get a compression test.

No compression test and I'd only offer him $150; but for that it would certainly be worth it.

For $400 it would have to be complete AND make good compression; but it's not all there (tail light, rear signals, exhaust...)

If the motor is solid it would have potential.

Yeah it does, for $800 or maybe $1000. Looks like it's had some things updated; I see what appear to be stainless brake lines. REAR brakes are stone easy, so the current owner may be clueless.

The more things that have been done toward a true recomissioning, the more it's worth and the less of an investment will be required to get it reliable.

Except for the extremely blued headers (how lean can you run?) and the rear turn signals mounted to the plastic rear fender. Unusual combo - Sport mini-fairing with the aftermarket rear backrest/luggage frame/faux leather saddlebags.

That looks like a MAC exhaust to me (I have one). As I understand it, they aren't double walled, so they yellow/blue easily (mine are, could have been running lean for a while, but it's definitely good now).

One of my bike's PO's mounted the turn signals INTO the tail plastic...and flat piece of steel and a set of Seca II turn signals can fix that 8)
