This is the third time I've cleaned up the contacts in the relay and put it back together.
So this time I loaded it with dielectric at the contacts.
At first there was so much it wouldn't latch.
When it did latch it got hot enough to smoke the dielectric.
It's hot enough to not want to hold in your hand.
A coil gets hot when energized, just curious if this is excessive?

I was testing it with out the cover on.
So I could see what it was doing.
When it wouldn't latch, it toggled between the two contacts.
Sounded like a bike with a card in the spokes.

Flush it out real good with contact cleaner, NOT Brake cleaner.

Be sure everything is bone-stone clean, no traces of dielectric grease.

Give it a shot of TUNER cleaner/lube (Radio Shack.) Tweak "at rest" positions of contacts (adjust their stops if necessary) for proper operation.

    Bet me it works fine.
