Just purchased a low mile 1982 Seca 750. It will roll in Nuetral. Starter won't turn the engine over but starter is good. I removed it and it spins good with power.
Took plugs out and tried to bump the motor in 3rd gear. Back tires slides.
I'm not sure where to start from here. I don"t know if pistons are stuck or if the starter clutch or something else is wrong. Can anyone give me some advise? Thanks

Yes, as 420 says, remove the ignition cover (the left side that says YICS on it). Inside theres a square nut that accepts a 19mm wrench. Have the bike on its centerstand & make sure its in neutral. Try spinning the rotor with the wrench. If it eventually turns, give it a few more spins then try the starter again. If its super tight, dont force it. Remove the spark plugs & try again. If it still wont turn, drop a couple cc's of motor oil in each cylinder & let it sit a couple days & try again. I think counter-clockwise is best.
Hopefully this will help, maybe some of the more knowledgeable members will chime in here with better advice. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I removered the cover and tried turning the shaft with a wrench. It is very tight even with the plugs out. I might have 1/8 inch movement. I put some penetrating oil on the cylinders but I am not to optimistic yet. Any other ideas? Thanks
