idle screw for 1982 yamah maxim

    hi i was told my maxim 750 1982 idle screw was between the two right side carbs facing up towards the tank(when seeted on bike) now i noticed there is the same exact screw between the two left side carbs do i have to adjust this one too for idle to be the same on all four cylinders?any help greatly apreciated now i nknow there is another thread but my carbs are not the same at all as in that picture :cry: :oops:

    Those are your synce screws. Look between carbs 2-3 and you'll find another one. They set the throttle linkages relative to each other, there are 3 in total. Carbs are numbered 1-4 from the left to the right side of the bike when you are sitting on it.

    The idle stop screw is inbetween the float bowls of carbs 2-3. Underneath the carbs. You reach in with your hand (gloved helps when the engine is warmed up) from the left side of the bike to turn it. It pushes the whole inkage open and closed to set the idle.

    The sync screw between 3-4 sets the #4 throttle relative to #3. The sync screw between 1-2 sets #1 relative to #2. The sync screw between 2-3 sets the #2 linkage (and therefore the whole left side) relative to the #3 linkage (and therefore, the whole right side).

    thanks i was starting to wonder why my right side spark plug was really white when its usually golden brown iveput it back to where it was and turned down the idle with no hiccup when i bought the bike owner told me cylinder to far right was not firing i got home and started the bike after a charge up guy was a major noob didnt know what the problem was battery was ded but i have no evidance aof a missfire even cylinder gets hot and sparks consistantly this is my first bike and it seems kinda powerless can anyone give me valve clearances please i have no shop manual or owners manual

    thankyou big i will check clearances my carbs are working well from what i can see bike starts perfectly runswell all plugs are the same colour usually till i turned the wrong screw but now that i adjusted it it it runs like before but now i got this ticking noise i post a forum about it title bloody h*ll ause of a dented pipe maybe you could check it out and let me know :) thanks again man
