I have a 650 maxim and was wondering if anyone has used any of these tires in place of the 130/90-16 rear:

    130/70-16
    130/80-16
    140/70-16

Yes, I understand that these are either wider, shorter or both than the stock tire. Just curious if anyone has tried it and what their thoughts were.

    Thanks

I don't think you could go wider, the clearance between the final drive is already pretty tight

Taller is another issue, that is why I am wanting a 70 series tire. I know that as you get to speed, the tire will have a tendency to grow taller. If 140mm really meant 140mm I think it would fit. The difference is just a little bigger than 3/16" (.197") per side. What I don't know is how much the tire will mushroom out since it is going on a some what narrow rim. I wonder how close the drive shaft is to that side of the swing arm?
