The neutral light seems to be staying on for some reason. I have replaced the fuse box already but thats about it for electrical. I also lightly checked the connections on the neutral wire and they all looked good but is there another common problem with this happening that I should know of before I take my exhaust off again to more closely examine the wire?

Keep in mind that the neutral light is supposed to have 12V+ supply constantly fed through the (light) brown colored wire when the key switch is "on." The sky-blue colored wire grounds the light bulb when the trans is put in neutral. So if the light stays on, you can't blame the fused 12V+ supply, because its connection is verified. Therefore the problem must be that the negative side of the bulb is constantly connected to ground, regardless of the trans switch. This would tend to indicate that the sky-blue wire is shorted to ground somewhere or the neutral switch has failed and is constantly closed (to ground) regardless of the transmission's position.

it is common for the little fork shaped connector at the neutral switch to be deformed and touching the outer wall of the switch causing it to be constantly grounded.
