    i've just been watching on tv, billy connollys, documentary aboute traveling the old route 66, on a large trike, and meeting some eccentric people and facinating places along the way.
    dunno if its been shown in u.s. billy is a much loved scotish commedian over here.i just envy him and you u. s. guys to be able to travel such roads.

    I live in the states and will probably never make it that way on a bike. Maybe see it one day with the family in a car though...

    I live in Wisconsin and my son goes to school in Missouri, so I get a chance to travel on part of the old Rt 66 when I go to visit him...my favorite is to stop at a place called Cozy Dog in Springfield IL...it's where the corn dog originated.
    When I was a kid my family drove out to California for vacation, although we drove mostly on the interstate, we'd periodically took side trip along the old Rt 66 (which wasn't all that old in 1969)...Even as a little kid, I thought it was pretty cool.

    I'll look for that documentary.

    Route 66 is an interesting ride (the States were FAR more interesting road wise before the Interstates), but some of the road is really dicey.

    Gonna have to torrent that. It's the only way I can keep up on the UK shows I like (QI, 10 O'Clock Live, etc).
