    Hey All,

Im a new rider, just bought a Yamaha Maxim-I 650 and i figured i'd join this forum to help me with my new ride. I was able to start the bike for a few minutes but now it wont start. I changed the spark plugs and battery. I know it will need the carbs cleaned and an oil change but is there anything I might be over looking after this is all done? Also can anyone tell me what the I stands for after mixim? Anything will help especially since this is my first motorcycle i've owned.

Thanks everyone and glad to be apart of this community

Welcome. Now check the rear brakes! They delaminate (pull off the metal part) over time. Fork seals, tire date codes, Fuse box (barrel fuses I would replace with spade type), Brake lines (they are good for 3 years i think if the rubber type), and most likely the valve clearances. Off the top of my head. shure someone has somethin to add if i missed anything. Again welcome to an Incredible site.
