I saw a thread not too long ago where the XJer fitted some fully adjustable YZF600 forks to his 650 Maxim. If I remember rightly the thread was called something like YamaGPZ 650. I didn't post there because I don't want to hijack the thread.

My questions are has anyone else done the swap? If so how easy hard was it? Was there a need for a custom triple tree stem or any major engineering work required?

It so happens I have every single part needed for the YZF600 front end currently attached to a bike that won't be doing anything for a long time.

    Cheers,

    KDub

You will have to send the triple to a shop in Richmond, va to have it make to fit the xj650 front.

If the stems are different, you'll need to take both sets to a machine shop and have them switch the stems for you. They're pressed in, so they'll have to be done with a good size press.
