The manual I'm looking at says that's the max on the fork air assist.

Serious? Most I've dealt with maxed out at 8-12 psi...

I just wanna be sure, don't wanna pop 'em...

Well I just rode it with 24 psi and I liked how it felt. I hope that's not too much...

yeah the manual says 36, but idk, seems awfully high to me as well.

    I run mine at 7.

How did you like yours at 24? lot different? how so? Just stiffer?

I liked it. Yeah, firmer, for sure. Could have gone down a few psi and been even better, probably more like 15-18 would be ideal for my weight. I'll have to play with it and see.

Well, one unforeseen benefit....I aired 'em up to about 34 and it stood up real high...then let it back down to about 15, which seems perfect for me....in the meantime, the large black smudge that kept appearing on the right tube and making me think a seal repair was next on the agenda stopped completely...now I have just normal faint wiping oil sheen on both tubes, no rings or crud...

Seems lifting that high musta dislodged some crud interfering with that seal or something. One less thing to do for now. Yay.

My '82 XJ1100 says 17 max on the forks...the rear shocks can go as high as 52 however...

I'd make sure that its right because if it is to high you are going to blow the seals out eventually. Maybe you should get some feed back from chacal on this.
