I did a valve adjustment and now both exhaust valves on the number 1 cylinder are .01 or .02 mm out of spec on the loose side. I already got the cover on and the coils back in place and really don't want to mess with removing the cam's again if I really dont need to. I'm still cleaning the carbs so I don't know how it runs yet. Should I spend the time tearing it apart again or do you think it will be ok?

I would take the time to get your valves right and in spec. If you don't, you won't have an accurate sync on your carbs regardless of how clean they are. Your valves will get tighter with time but if you are trying to do it right, take the time and get your valves in spec.

Post the readings on your valves. Both the intake and exhaust and are you using metric gauges?

The only problem would be a little more noise, but other than that I would not worry about it. The additional noise would only be apparent at idle or low engine speeds and you may not even notice.

Don't worry about it. I have just done my maxim X valve shims and deliberately left all my clearances on the upper spec limit- max gap so it will give me more miles before they need doing again. My bike runs just fine. The important point is that all the valves fully close. Anyway, i doubt if you could accruately measure .01mm - .02mm. with feeler gauges.

Yes it is best to set them on the loose side of the recommended range so you have longer time between redoing them. On the shim valves the clearances almost always get tighter as the valves pound into the head over time which closes up the clearances. On screw lash types it is often the opposite where the clearances actually open up over time as the small surface of the screws wear down more rapidly than the valve seats.
