    New to the forum here as I ended up getting a project of some sorts and am in need of some guidance lol as it needs lots of love and care lol Ill include the photos

    from what I know of it its a 86 xj700 sepcs unsure as I havent had much of a chance to look at it since it arrived in my shop.... But any help would be great lol

    Welcome!

    Looks like what you have there is a 400 maxim (twin cylinder) better known as the xs400. Chain drive and mono shock in the rear, good little bikes.

    Have you checked the compression to make sure the motor is in ok shape first?
