Will carbs from a 750 Seca fit on a 550 Seca?

I'm having a lot of trouble finding some new carbs for my 550 seca, but I see plenty of 750s to go around. I realize I would have to rejet but will it physically fit?

No, the 550 uses a mikuni and 750 uses a hitachi. they wouldn't line up right and I think they have a different diameter throat so you couldn't even make them fit without major re-engineering.

Correct. The 550s use a Mikuni 28mm carb; the bigger bikes use 33mm Hitachis (generally speaking.)

    BE CAREFUL BUYING 550 CARBS.

While the 550 Seca and Maxim have very few "deep" mechanical differences, there is one important one: they have different cams.

As a result, the carbs are configured differently: the pilot AIR jet and main jet needles are different from the Seca to the Max. You don't want to try to run 550 Maxim carbs on a Seca 550.

If you end up with a set of Maxim carbs; they're great for parts. But if you're going to run them, be sure to transfer those items listed above over from your Seca carbs.

And remember that no matter what carbs you find, they will need to be rebuilt just like your originals. Replacing old carbs with different old carbs won't remove that need.
