82 XJ 550 Seca. Engine is out of the bike. It is in good condition, ran before I took it apart, I just don't have skills to put it back together. I don't know whether to part it out, because I see people here looking for parts I have, or dumping it to put my mistakes behind me. Someone in San Diego area make an offer for whole thing?

    FreshStarts,

Welcome. What do you mean by you took it apart other than taking the engine out? Is it possible for you to post pics? Good News...whatever you've done that makes you think you can't put it back together is inaccurate. Better News...all the information and "know hows" are right here. I personally don't know anything about the Seca's, but I can assure you there are members here that can and will help you put your bike back together should you choose to do so. While I'm not trying to tell you anything you don't already know anytime you are dealing with this type of craft work a servicable amount of organization wiill go hand-in-hand with the "learning curve" as you learn your bike. You might start with a bike specific Manual, a roll of masking tape, a box of LARGE food storage bags and a sharpie. Start separating and labeling parts and pieces. Come to the forum, read, take notes, ask questions and wait for members to reply. Don't get discouraged, be persistent. You've accepted the fact you think you made a mistake. Get it back together, then remove, learn, restore as you go. Good Luck with whatever you decide.

    Gary
