Would anyone recommend this for optimal restoration or bypass the original tires for more up to date tires?

    Get good tires.

IIRC, the 650 Seca came with Bridgestone "Mag Mopus" not their best tire. The Secas didn't have RWL, either, so you're good there.

Dunlop D404, Bridgestone Battlax BT45, Avon AM26 RoadRider, there are a lot of good choices.

Thankfully, the "period tires" that came on the 650 Seca are long vanished.
