    hi, when my fuel tap is on prime ,fuel runs constant from on position pipe and not prime. when in the on position no fuel runs. this seems to be the wrong way round,and would it still be ok to use, cheers.

    This is how it should work:

    Prime - fuel runs all the time
    ON - fuel does not run with engine off, you need vacuum applied at the other tube for it to run.

    Hi Putz,

    When the tap is turned to PRI, fuel will flow freely.
    When the tap is turned to ON it needs vacuum from the engine to open the diaphragm in the petcock to let the fuel flow. Same with RES.
    PRI is to let the carby bowls fill without the engine running if you haven't used it for a while.

    thanks, feel a fool thought fuel was gonna come out of vacuum pipe,learning very slow, thanks again
