Leaky tach drive

    Common problem, there is a o-ring and oil seal in there. PM out parts supplier Chacal(click on the XJ4ever banner at the top of the page) he will send you a quote for parts. It is a cheap fix and easy to do.

    well if its just the tach drive cable it wont be a big deal. i actually got a cap from him to take place of it...but will it still leak if i put the tach cap on? And mlew i was actually your way earlier this year on vacation!

    I don't know about the cap. I would assume if you a new o-ring on the drive and the cap it won't leak, at least it should not. Are you sure the valve cover is not leaking onto the tach drive?
    I did not know there was any vacationing to do in the Apex area, nothing much special to see around here. Family and friends are different, thats also a vacation.

    yeah i looked up at the valve cover and there is zero oil leaking from the valve cover, and its only coming from that area, ill have to check it out again after work or something
