    Hey guys!

Earlier this summer I replaced the sensor for the low fuel indicator. It worked fine for a little while, but now it seems like the whole circuit is dead.

I've metered the black and green wires and found infinite resistance - meaning there's a break somewhere in the line. I checked the bulb and it's fine as well as the leads inside the tachometer.

Somewhere along the line the black and green wires change to green and brown, but i'm not sure where - there's quite a rat's nest behind the headlight. I've got the service manual but I'm having some trouble making sense of the actual wiring...

Anybody been down this road that can help me out?

    Thanks!
    Mike

    Hey Mikey
I have the same bike and had the same problem. There is a wire on the unit inside the tank that can break. I thought I posted it on here once and did look through my Phototbucket pics , but can't find it.
Anyway, take the sending unit out and see if it's broke, I managed to re-solder mine, but not tested it in the tank as the bike is in pieces......still.
It was a bitch getting it out seeing as it had been in the tank for so long.
But, if your other tests come up blank, then check the unit inside the tank.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

That was my first guess, but it's not the problem in this case. The sending unit is new and I double checked it and it passes as serviceable. The problem is somewhere between the female connector under the seat to the light bulb...

    Thanks though!
