    Use a section of the Shank from a large Pop Rivet.

    Some Ball-point Pens have solid Ink-tubes that substitute nicely.

    Don't forget to polish the substitute, the other pins, and the internal surface of the float hinge with 1,200 - 1,500 grit for smooth operation.

    Everyone reading this should have done this "chore" by now.
