Sure looks like a 650 Seca to me, with some mods and an aftermarket exhaust.

I'm sure other Seca owner's will be able to tell you more...

Hi Kenbo, there's a wealth of information packed in this site and in it's members. Learn how to use the search mode to find past information as well as asking questions and you'll be on your way to knowing your bike and getting your questions answered. Good to see you here and it will be nice to see what you do to your bike the longer you own it.

Good to have you with us Kenbo. It does look like an early 650. That is about all I can see from the photo (solid rotors are ancient too).

    Hay thanks for the welcome

I have applied to DVLA for a copy of the documents so will know more details when they arrive. The last owner had lost them along with the keys.

Would I be safe to asume that the petrol cap and the ignition are the same key?

It has sat out side for two years under a plastic cover without turning a wheel. Though it was a runner when he parked it up so hopefuly not too much work needed to get her running. Still I got her for nothing saved her from getting scraped

Definitely an early Seca. My 82 looks identical.

Looks to be an aftermarket exhaust. Is that a 4 into 1 system?

Not surprisingly, this appears to be the Euro model. Looks to have an oil cooler and no YICS.

I love mine. If you get her going, should serve you for many years.

I would assume that both the ignition and gas cap are different (odds are always in favor of things not working out correctly right?).
And bless you for giving her a new home and lease on life, let's hope you love her more than the P.O.

Coastie, I think Robert was referring to Murphy's Law ;) On these bikes, I think they're generally keyed the same, but if the tank, cap, or ignition switch were ever changed out, they'd differ. Robert was just being the pessimist setting Kenbo up for a pleasant surprise :D

Well finaly got my hands dirty.

Got a new battery yesterday and the yami dealer is going to make me a key if i take the barrel into him.

Only when working on her do I realise the corrosion that is actualy there.. (had to cut a couple of nuts and bolts)

Well I must say a big thank you to Ferret2. We have had a few PMs back and forth and he has given me some good info and advice. Thanks mate.

I will keep watching the posts. Though I may be posting more questions than answers. Keep up the good work Guys :D

Hi Kenbo, welcome to the site.

Are you in the vicinity of Edinburgh?

I've an old friend living there I dont get to see very often!

He and his wife love it there!

I'll bet the corrosion is really a tough battle because of the ocean air!?

Lots of folks on this site who have lots of good info, like was said before the search engine is most helpful.
