there should be a little float inside the master cylinder tank, pretty sure it's magnetic.
    take a look in there

Theres nothing in the master the only thing there is the brake light switch(2 wire) and brake hose.I am stumped with this one.Im hoping it doesnt interfere with getting a government saftey for it.

it's been awhile but there should be a pin/tower type thing in there coming up from the bottom with a donut shaped float on it.
look close at the tube with the brake light wires maybe there's another one in there, or maybe it's not the original

    ok, i found my book.
you want to look for a white wire with a black stripe going into a 9 pin plug to the speedo unit.

I will have a look tomorrow (the bikes at work) there is a plug I can't find the other end to and have no idea where it goes and I'm quit sure its got a white and black wire.but I'm positive there's nothing in the master just fluid and a small hole that feeds fluid into the plunger.

What Polock is saying is right, that little float on the pin is the sensor for the brake fluid level. The master (if stock) should have a plastic pin thing coming up from the bottom, and a square block that looks kinda like styrofoam that floats up and down on the pin, which has a magnetic switch of some kind in it.

My guess is either not a stock master, does it say "Yamaha" on the top? Or...for whatever reason, somebody pulled the guts out and tossed the sensor. But what I don't understand is what is plugging the hole the pin comes up through.

    Here's a stock master: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/82728673/2012-0 ... .34.10.jpg

sorry about link, I tried all different ways to get the pic to embed, apparently dropbox won't work like photobucket. That's where that pic happens to be.

The switch is similar to the reed switch for the canceler in the speedo. Magnetic reed switch.

Sorry about that I think I did it wrong.I'm thinking my master is from an 83 cause it doesn't look like that.I'm starting to believe my bike is a mix if 82 and 83.so I think ill look for a master from an 82.I am sure this bike isn't done with me yet and ill be askin more questions.I appreciate all your time and effort on helping me with this ordeal.I really like this site and you have a great bunch of people with perfect knowledge on the awsome bikes thanks a lot for the help.

connected the white/black wire to ground. No more "brake" warning .Still goes through the cycle and checks system like normal that all fine with me.Is there a fix like that for a "battery" warning light? I dont have the sensor in the battery just the plug on the frame

well as long as we're at it.
there's three ways, Mr. chacal sells a nice kit with step by step instructions and quality parts or i can tell you how to do it and you hunt down your own parts or just hook 12v to a wire and the battery light is history and serves no purpose.
    check this out
