Yikes, not really... I never see our bikes at the autoyards either. They usually have a few but there all never what I need...

Mr motorcycle recyclers on line will find the used part for you, then you can pick the nearest location.

I have used UNeedAPart http://www.uneedapart.com/used-motorcycle-parts.php successfully in the past; but I also had a bad experience with one salvage yard that subscribes to their service.

slomo85, if you're only getting 41mpg from a 550, something's not right. Properly tuned (in stock trim) you should see around 53mpg unless all you do is city riding.

If you are going to use Motorcycle Salvage for trying to find a part you can't find in here or onn Ebay, ...

Pick one that has the capability of locating the part through a Network of Salvage Yards by Teletype of Internet.

Here's one that has an extensive inventory and ships UPS.

I found a place on craigslist that has a ton of bikes they are dismantling in Lake Elsinore just north of Temecula. I will look at my bookmarks/history.

There used to be a place in San Marcos/Esco border on Mission. When I go back through that area wednesday I will get the name. When I went there last that had alot of yammies, old too. I spotted a RD400 in the corner and and unknown Camel Yamaha fairings that was the inspiration for my FZR 80's "race build"

Escondido Cycle Salvage. Been there. Last time I went, the guy was telling me he didn't see too much of a future for the business, so he was selling what he had on ebay.

    Yeah that's the place.

Here's the place in lake Elsinore

Generation cycle. From the pics on Cl it looks mostly dirt but this is what they tout and they just got a xj1100.
