Hey guys, first post! I have read some of the old threads about rejetting carbs but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for so here's my questions.... I have an 82 XJ650 with a 4 into 1 open exhaust and I'm switching the airbox out for pod filters. What size jets will I need to put in the carbs?
This is how it's sitting now, haven't done much.... just getting started!

Hi, with pods you should go up 3 on the mains & up 1 on the pilots, this is the starting point.

The mains are a 110 and the pilots are a 40 right?

So on the pilots I'd want to go up to a 45 and the mains a 122.5?

    There's no Genuine Jetting Chart.
Just what has done well for other experimenters.

I don't think Re-Jetting is the only Mod that will alleviate the Lean Condition.
I think the Carbs Need a greater flow of MAIN Air to deliver a greater volume of Fuel into the Intake Stream.

This might include drilling extra AIR Metering Ports inn the Stock Main Nozzles.
An additional Port drilled in between the existing holes surrounding the Nozzle (Emulsion Tube)

    Plus:
Enlarging the Nozzles AIR Metering Ports --> Incrementally <-- from Bottom to top, ... so that more AIR passes into the E-Tube to Siphon-up an increased volume of MAIN JET supplied Fuel.

Stock MAIN AIR delivers an insufficient volume of Fuel.
The Larger MAIN FUEL Jet allows more FUEL to get siphoned.
The Stock MAIN AIR siphons this Fuel up in RIVULETS.
NOT a Well-atomized Mist of Fuel, ... thereby supplying a Leann Mix that does not BURN as efficiently as a well atomized mixture.

Hey Rick.... I haven't even gotten the new filters on yet to see how it runs with them, I'm placing the order for them soon and know I need to order new jets to go with them.... I was just trying to get an idea of a good set to start with and then go from there to get it tweaked right.

According to this wouldn't I be up 12 on the main jet for open headers, 4-1 exhaust, and pod filters. And then up 3 on my pilots?
Also, Hitachi jet sizes are in increments of 2 so would I be going up 12 increments to a 136 from 110 or literally 12 up to 122 from 110?
