Not sure if that air filter is snug in the right spot as you screw the cover on? Wedge a piece of polystyrene between the filter and the snorkel to hold it in place. On a trip and lost the circlip that holds the gear lever on? No probs if you had one taped under your side cover. Put some plasticine on those battery nuts to stop them falling out when you're messing about with it. Keep 'em coming!

God, no kidding on that battery nut thing. I lost one the other day taking out my battery to charge it. Driving all over town looking for a battery place.

I don't carry much stuff. But fuses, always have fuses. If you have an upgraded fuse block, or a random scrap one like mine, that has extra slots, fill them with spare fuses. Beats having to do a roadside bypass and melting your whole harness. (I did that on a pickup once, young and dumb and used a penny as a fuse, I was chasing down burnt up wires for months)

I drilled a 3/16ths hole in the top front corner of each side cover and zip tied them to the frame. They will come loose, but they stay attached. No more lost side covers for me!

Something I used when I worked on cars that works on bikes too. A 6 inch piece of 5/16ths fuel line will fit snug over the electrode of a spark plug and helps to install in tight spaces or on a hot motor.
