I bought one recently off ebay for around $40 including postage

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SALE-YICS-El ... 460ae1ff4c

I had already balanced the carbs, but the bike was still running poorly. The tool was a tight fit, some of the "O" rings broke, but the YICS tool came with spare "O" rings.

I ended up balancing the bike, now she runs very sweetly, no vibration, smooth gear changes, and idles great.

So I can say this tool was a good buy, and although I broke some "O" rings, that may have more to do with the YICS port on my bike.

    cheers, Gareth

Got mine from Chacal. The o-rings are much wider and I've used it several times and the original o-rings are still good. Mine is tight also, especially removing it when the engine is hot.

You are supposed to spray the tool with silicone lubricant before you insert the tool into the YICS port if memory serves me. I do recall that the lube burns off if you run the engine too long.

I like the differential bottles because the balance adjustment can be very quick once you get used to the bottles.

You didn't leave the thing IN, did you? That's what the purveyor of those is recommending, but it's not really a good idea.

I read on the instructions that the seller suggested leaving it in place, however, I thought that if YICS was good enough for Yamaha, it was good enough for me.

It's like the Suzuki GT380 I once owned with the RAM air system shroud over the head, not sure if it worked or not, but figured it would not harm the bike.

I must say the viton "O" rings that came with the tool broke too easily, a little brittle I reckon, but I am still very happy with the tool.

    cheers, Gareth

cramming oil-soaked rag strips in there is *free* - leaving $40 in the new guy's budget for more important things like new brake shoes, front brake re-build or a better helmet.
