older K bikes

    started the 85 k100rs up the other day after setting on the side stand for about two months, looked like the house was on fire, it's a wonder nobody called the fire dept. then after i could get the choke off i took it down the road and left a smoke trail that could be seen from outer space.
    about five miles later everything cleared up and had a nice ride. when i got back i used the center stand.
    do R's do this too?

    On the sidestand lets the oil drain into the head unless all your seals are perfect. Extended parking should be done on the centerstand. I would imagine it would be similar for the R's except only 1 cylinder and the sump is lower so it might not drain as much.

    i think all early k's do this...mine does for sure....
    like Time says, put a kickstand on the right side ...

    so if it doesn't smoke it's time to check the oil, that's a plan
    if anyone needs a clutch tool, just ask, i don't ever plan on using it again
