Okay to do a swap with the fzr gauges, i need a different type of cable or housing. So what ive researched is that the 94-96 fzr cable will work witha n xs 650 speedometer housing and since the 81-84 have the same size front wheel as the seca 750 with the only difference is no anti dive for setup and only one disc brake instead of the duals. So i am wondering will the speedometer housing for xs 650 work on a seca 750 wheel or is this gauge swap gunna get complicated and expensive? Any and all feedback is appreciated. :?:

The drive unit at the wheel is likely the same ratio for both; you should just be able to hook up the appropriate-length cable and go.

Virtually all Yamahas (and most other Japanese bikes) from the mid '70s well through the '90s (until everyone started to move away from all having the same size front wheels) had the same speedo drive ratio. Makes swapping speedos easy.

Just my 2 cents worth, and i don't know exactly how much research you have done, but,
as long as the diameter of the axles are the same between the 2 bikes there should be no problem with fitment.

The speedometer ratio for virtually all Jap bikes of the era is 2240rpm=60mph.
