I feel your pain man. I was bidding on a new helmet and was winning at $40 under my max bid up until 5 seconds till the end of the auction. Then it jumped up like $45 in by the time I refreshed again. Made me want to email the winner and tell me what I thought of him. Argh!

sniping on ebay is the nature of the beast, for items that there are "more" of I just put in what i would pay and forget it, but if your trying to beat the system you've got to snipe to get it unless you are willing to pay top dollar, if your not using a "snipe" program (I dont) you just have to be quicker on the keyboard and have a fast internet connection, the last 10 seconds are the time to be alert and dont let it get to you, ive watched items go for over retail on ebay because people get caught up in it. good luck next time. chil

Yep if ya want it ya gotta snipe I guess. Makes hunting thru the salvage yard all the more fun. At least that way you get to look at the guy in the eye when he tells ya the price. This can be an inexpensive hobby or it can take ya broke. Just depends on how bad you want it.

My philosophy on EBay is 'set it and forget it.' If you're willing to 'snipe' it for a higher price, just bid that higher price in the first place.

BTW, I just got a set of "Air Splitter" air horns for $17.50 on EBay. Picking them up tomorrow. We'll see if I can get them rigged up on the Seca.
