Gave the bike a birthday today, new shocks, flushed the rear brake fluid, and finally fitted the new sight glass to the front brakes (only taken 2 years lol). While doing the oil change i notice there's what looks like an adjuster in the top of the gearbox right underneath the cam chain adjuster, never noticed it before, what is it?

its the rear chain guide bottom fixing! no really!

Seems like a lot of work but its a long bolt with a pin that rests against the bottom of the chain guide... man you know what it's actually hard to explain without seeing it but it holds the bottom of the chain guide from slipping out but lets it move like a pivot hinge :)

So, like the swingarm stubs its not tight but just loose enough to allow motion, and thus the lock nut!

Oh boy, this started out with a good explanation but...

If only it was a starter chain adjustment, cmon you know you were hoping it was!

Correct. It's not a "maintenance" adjustment, it's a ONE-TIME adjustment, at time of assembly when there's no tension on anything yet, so leave it alone!

Here it is; but like I said, note that everything is flopping free at this point.
