hey everyone. it has been a long time since i have posted. been really busy moving and working on house but i finally got the chance to get the bike ready. The weather has been great for some time now so it is about time to get it out of the garage, but i am running into a few problems. please let me explain my situation:

The bike starts up fine. everything is working except the headlight (high beam and low beam) AND the auxilary light. The diagnostic check display does not reveal any problems with the headlight. i ride it around for a bit and at very high RPMs (while in gear and neutral) the lights finally flicker on but then shortly turn off again. The bike still is running.

I open up the seat and I am noticing the "Main Fuse" is REALLY hot and is starting to melt the fuse block that it is attached to.

I am not sure what to do. I went on to locate the headlight relay and took it apart, made sure of all connects are tight, and plugged it back together and i am still running into the same prob.

I am lost for what step to take next. I was not seeing any of these problems last season until the end of the year just at winterizing it.

I am wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be and/or anyother diagnosic tests i should personally run before i go to the deal and pay out the rear.

I appreciate any help and let me thank you now for any advice!

    ~Mark

Replace the entire FUSE PANEL with a new one.

This should be like waving a red flag in front of a bull.
Like RickCoMatic said, replace the fuse panel with one of the new fuse types.

I would thoroughly clean the fuse holder, and check the fuse. OK it may sound a stupid idea to check the fuse, but if the internal wire is loose and not blown it will arc and get hot, it would also cause the headlight fault. If there was a short severe enough to lose the light I would expect the fuse to blow. on the other hand if there was an open circuit, the fuse would not overheat.

Ordered one yesterday. Once installed, I will post my findings to see if that was the problem. Thanks again.... :)

Got the new fuse bank in yesterday and installed it. Headlights are working great. Looks like that was the problem. Thanks for the info...
