I've got the Max all Dialed-in; it looks like.
She'll do the Big Howl and No-hesitation or feathering when putting the power on at slow speed in third.

I cleaned-out the YICS Passage; good. Several swabs of Carb Cleaner soaked paper towel wads ... loosened and cleaned-out the passage fine.

The Running Flush helped a lot.
    Undo YICS Bolt
Plug it with the tip of your index finger.
You have to make a little opening for the Carb Cleaner sprayer.
Shoot it with Choke OFF is you can keep the Idle up.

Eventually the Carb Cleaner getting drawn into the YICS Chamber is going to start working on cleaning-out the YICS Air Ports.
As it does ... the Idle will increase and the Carb Cleaner will be whistling through the YICS Tornado and cleaning-out the joint!
You on-the-edge Tweakers will enjoy doing this.

    Road.
    Everythings clean and tweaked.
    Here she is today.
Next stop is the Pimping Department.

For a quick YICS clean out, a pistol cleaning rod with a bronze pistol bore brush .375 dia. or better works REALLY well.....and really quick too!
    1) Remove both YICS plugs.
    2) Place bike on sidestand
    3) Place a rag under the left side (lower) port
    4) Spray GUMOUT in the YICS passage and work the brush back and forth a few times, follow up with more GUMOUT.
    5) Blow dry with an air compressor (if you have one) Otherwise, finish up per Rick's Most Excellent write-up.
    6) Remove the rag, install the plugs, go ride. Yee Hah!

Great topic...thank you... and something that I can do easily right now to add and complete on my maintenance check list. I searched in my Clymer manual for this and came up empty...very sad! I immediately dug into this YICS stuff on the net to understand and to find links for my records and came up with this as one link: YICS system. It looks nothing like I have unless I'm missing something. I found this thread for the location of this/these plugs here: YICS plug....is this it? I'm so glad the guy before me kept up with stuff on my bike so I can ride as I bone up on all this stuff. My bike is running great and I am so fortunate to have my carb boots in super condition for one less thing to worry about also. So much to learn and so many tools to get and learn how to use them...mainly on the carbs. I'll get there eventually if I keep digging in to the point of being armed with all the information, parts and tools to be confident enough to start the work to complete my check list. Thanks again for threads like this to help me keep my bike running like a top. :D

Just flushed my YICS too...thanks Rick! :) I can see how the YICS tool works now after seeing where it is.

This guy recommends using 1/16" welding wire with a 5mm right angle bend to open up severely clogged ports on the YICS system. I might try it too but I don't think I really need to as I had plenty of vacuum....probably wouldn't hurt to do it anyway I guess?
