Here in Quebec, it doesn't feel like spring at all:

Just kidding...it was earlier this winter, but we still have a foot of snow in the backyard between the shed my bike is in and the street. I don't expect the first ride before three weeks.

EDIT: weather forecast talks about another foot for Tuesday, sh*t!

Looks nice where you are, Elk, I'd be riding already =).

Actually, my son and I have been out on the TW and the recon, so we're not totally without wheelin' fun.

Ok so i got the seca out , warmed her up and headed to town for petrol . Half way to town a black cloud came over the mountain with a furious hail storm . Sorry my friends to the north , i too have been denied much of a ride today .
More like a dash for home racing the hail storm !!

Ha, funny. Hail would be the ultimate insult to a bike rider. Kinda like hitting june bugs, over and over and over . . .

I've been hinting at our later years in a warmer climate. The wife was thinking Alaska =0. I told her I'd skype her everyday from NC/SC/GA/ wherever =).

Now she's leaning more towards VA, so there's hope.

Hmm, well if this thread had been posted Friday morning I'd have a pic of dry roads/ground, sunshine & kids playing on the field. Friday afternoon, it'd be a pic of me heading home from a ride, through a hailstorm like Elkhavenseca, on the CB-1...

Saturday morning it'd have been snow lying on the ground, afternoon woulda been sunshine & drying roads again...

Today, rain all day. So, ummm yeah it's changeable here to say the least but can definitely feel spring round the corner, nights drawing out a bit etc. Not long now & we'll all be stretching our bike's legs every day :D

Well last year it was quite warm here in March. Not so much this year. At least the streets are clear.

    And Diesel will too.

Do you guys over the pond have as much bother with heavies/public transport etc sloshing diesel over the road? Seems almost every other Diesel powered vehicle here seems to leak the stuff from the tank overflow after they fill up & as soon as the slightest bit of rain gets in the mix it turns to rainbow coloured death!

Yikes bloke . sounds very dangerous . We don't have too much of that although our roads do get a build up of oils and such at intersections that after the first rain in a while do get pretty slick

It can be horrendous if it catches you unaware, I've been known to flag down/pull over vehicles with bad leaks & alert the driver to it and explain why it's a very bad thing!

Yeah that's never nice first rain after a dry spell. And we have roundabouts too (guess you must have some but not like as many as us?) that are always scary in the wet due to oil etc that was sat in chassis rails & the like getting thrown off by the cornering forces, and the rubber laid down by dual-wheels skipping their way round.

What sort of surface does it have? Most roundabouts here are regular tarmac but some of the ones on popular Truck/Trailer routes etc have a yellowish coloured rougher surface called shellgrip laid on in an attempt to stop rubber build up being an issue. It does work & is very grippy but if you do slide it makes one hell of a mess of bike & butt! it's like 0.1 grit sandpaper!

Broke records Friday, 79F here, now 42F and raining. Snow in the forecast for this Friday with lows back in the low 20's-so Spring is knocking but it can't come in-least not just yet. :-(

I'll edit and add a pic of the spring trying in a bit.

Last time my rear wheel gave up was in a turnaround, slam a foot on the ground to avoid sliding, corrected too much so I almost high-sided, then jumped on the brakes because of all of this put me on a straight line to the concrete edge, managed to stop before I hit it.. luckily I didn't came in too fast, I'm sure I would have crashed at 10 km/h faster.
Didn't see what exactly caused this, but it could have been rubber buid up or sand (was a windy day).

Well just the other day it was like the first picture. Right now though, its more like the second picture. We dropped 30 degrees over night. The saying around here is, "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes". Its a pretty accurate saying...

And that's 30 degrees CELSIUS that we dropped, not Fahrenheit. Its -15 right now.

omg you suck!!!! see i would want Phoenix for a lot of reasons. Year round riding and comfortable working conditions, no rust, i can have a licence, only 5 hours from vegas, 6 hours to LA, and 5 to my favorite, san diego!!! i could do it all in one day easy, first go to vegas and win big, then go to LA and visit people (women lol), then san diego to relax on the beach!!! woot!

Sadly, if I were still in the Specialty Game Industry, i'd be in Vegas right now for the Gama Trade Show. Old friends who just arrived @ McCarran are sending me really annoying texts.

I put 190 miles on the 700 Saturday. Sunday I took two of my daughters to the church parking lot to practice riding skills. I got them a Rebel for Christmas and full time riding time is just around the corner. It was 80 deg on Saturday, 70 deg on Sunday, 60 deg today.

Yes something like that . They run for open area when its really windy here on the mountain , and the alder trees start snapping . you get that many running by the house it really rumbles .
