(oops, put this in XJ tech forum first. i think this is the right forum)

    Hey folks,
I haven't been on this site in years. I'm an XJer from way back and I'm moving to the D.C. area from my current home in Thailand, where I've been about 20 months.
I used to live in Toronto where I owned a bunch of XJs, along with other bikes. You know how it is, once you start collecting bikes...
Anyway, I'll be living in Silver Spring, just outside the DC line and am looking to get back into XJs.
So if there are any XJers in the DC area, Virginia, Maryland and environs, maybe you've got a lead on an XJ that's not too expensive - or want to shoot the breeze about these fine old machines.
And once I'm riding, I can hammer out to see the infamous Rich DeZago in Penn! Not too far from what I can see.

Over here in Thailand, most people ride 100cc scooters. I've been riding an awesome 2006 Kawi TR250 classic retro dual sport dirt bike. Looks a lot like those old F7 125cc two strokes from the early 70's.
It's only sold in Japan but ended up in Thailand somehow and I bought it from a shop here. Havent' seen any XJs over here but there is a big Yamaha SR club, classic looking cafe bikes with the 400 and 600 singles, kick start only. Too bad I can't take my Kawi with me but shipping cost and registration transfer are a lot of money and hassle.

I'll be over there by end of June at the latest so if anybody's in that neighborhood, get it touch!
    thanks,
    Baz

Re: MOVING TO D.C. area - Coming back to XJs - looking for b

    Hi and welcome back!
I'm in York, PA, not TOO far up the road. I used to do some work in Bethesda, next to Silver Spring if I recall.
Anyhow, I'll keep an eye out for XJ's. Like mmcgee said, what are you willing to spend/put into it?
