Anyone have any idea of where to find out how many of each different XJ model were made (worldwide or just US) on a year-by-year basis?

If I remember correctly, it has a pretty good list in the xjcd. I beleive it even tells if it a US bike or Canadian. As far as other countries, I don't believe it lists them.

Look at the frame number as the start of their numbering system for any particular model of bike.

I'm guessing that the range column is the last model produced for that year/series.

Subtract the two and that should be the amount they produced.

    EG: 1981 XJ650H frame # 4H7-100101 range 300000

Suggests to me that 199,899 models were produced that year or I'm wrong and the other possiblity is they produced 300,000 models.

The range doesn't necessarily mean that many bikes were actually produced. It's just how many serial numbers were reserved for that model. We'd love to get solid data on actual production numbers but haven't had much luck so far.
