So as i was bolting my engine up in my seca 750 i noticed that the frame was split vertically about two inches long. Its about in the middle of the frame in between the kickstand and the frnt mounts, on both side s. I can definitely tell it has been like that for years but it's scary cuz i got that thing up to 123 on I90.

If your bike was kept outside and uncovered, water may have gotten into the frame and not being able to drain it froze during winter and the frame split just like a water pipe. Then when the weather warmed up the water was able to drain away. That's what happened to my bike which was bought in Minn.

The tubing should be thick/healthy enough to weld up - grind it down to bare metal, weld it up, and then drill a weep/drain hole in the lowest part of the frame. They came with them, but chances are they rusted shut.

Then inspect the rest of the frame and away you ride!

Had to do that to my XJ9 as well just that mine was on the lower frame by rail by the kickstand.

To add my two cents drill a small hole 1 and a half times larger than the crack to stop it from spreading on each end then burn it back together
