I was on a "closed course" and happened upon one.

Revving its engine just sitting there. I couldn't help it...

Holy Crap did that thing sound mean. Kept up with me till I hit second gear and by then end of third gear he was screwed.

    Still.....

The sound of my bike and his car was simply something of true beauty.

I looked them up just out of curiosity...

Good thing that's where it ended... Top speed 175mph. Dang.

Now you need to put her in the stable for the night and give her a good brush down and some oats so she'll be rested for tomorrow ...

I couple cars back, I owned 92 Crown Vic. Nicest riding car I ever had, and probably the balls-iest car I ever had on the road. (P71) Why bring it up?

I bought it from my best friend. When he still owned it, we would occasionally have the 'last stoplight in town' race. There wasn't another light for at least a mile. :)

At that time he worked right across the river from where I worked, and so we'd often meet for an early morning "mental therapy' session(read-Dunkin' Donuts for coffee and donuts, etc.....) ah, best friends--if you got one, you'll never need a therapist........ but I digress-----

Anyway, one day he had the car and I had my 900rk. We both got the light red (big grin). He looked at me, I looked at him.......we both looked back front again. Then the light turned green. He said later, that 'the light turned green, I mashed the pedal and took off like a shot--I took a quick look in the mirror and didn't see you. I looked over to the passenger windows and you weren't there, either. I couldn't find you anywhere, and you weren't anywhere on the road behind clear back to the light. I got to the next light which was red, you weren't there.!?!?!?! Then I finally spotted you.....on the switch-back road heading back to where you work. How fast were you going!?!?!?!?!?!?! '.

So.......I did see 92 in second gear, but I didn't look down anymore------ I did see him pull up to the light, though as I was heading the other way down the switchback. LOL

Then he bought himself a 96 thunderbird supercoupe, and I bought the CV. ;)

Personally I never use my sheild, my oakleys work fine. unless I'm behind a gravel truck then ill drop the sheild. I enjoy the wind in my face even at high speeds

My first car was an 84 Grand Marquis, relatively similar. I miss that thing everyday and I'd take another in a heartbeat. I bet it would have even put my 91 El Dorado to shame. Pure muscle with a touch of class.
