I havn't found another like it yet. another member on here told me it was the X2 when i first joined the site. i asked the local shop and they called it the midnight deluxe model fairing. i like the bike but i just dont "fit". im 6'2" and 365lbs. it'd be great if it was longer with forward controls. but i don't want to ruin a bike like this. since i cant find another.

You should buy it Dave. You could use another bike. You don't have nearly enough!

On another note...does anyone's midnight maxim still have the original black paint on the top end of the engine? Everyone that I've seen (including mine) is worn off.

Not an X2, but a 2nd generation X1 fairing. It was part of the Tour Deluxe package available for the XJ650/750 Maxim, and XV920 Virago. I have also seen the package used on the XS/XJ 1100.

Mine is still black, but unfortunately some PO thought flat black looked better. The good side is that it was done very poorly in rattle can, and should clean off nicely with a careful buffing.
