Hey everyone! I've been reading these forums for a while and decided i should probably just join. so here i am, just wanted to introduce myself and give some machine related background 8) my name's Ian, I currently own an 81 XJ550 Maxim that I've had since last summer which is going to be a much different bike in a few months. Been riding just over 2 years. This is the first bike i will have done major work on but i have some experience with an old SR250 and my 72 bay window bus when i had it. I am also quite experienced in the arts of golf cart repair and custom work (Club Car, EZ-Go, Yamaha, western, etc.) but that's a different world altogether.

I have a bunch of pictures so far of my progress on the Maxim and i will start a build page soon :) but here's how she looked before i got to work :

Get it running properly before you start modifying, so you have something to go by.
