Got this bike for graduating highschool last year. Belonged to my uncle from 91-98 which is when he was actually killed on the bike and has been sitting pretty much since then. It destroyed the fairing and the cluster all else is fine other then a few scratches and dents because it had kept going and laid itself against a fence. I really haven't done much to it other than clean the carbs, and got a new gauge cluster on it other then those it's basically stock. Things like my baby due to the sentimental value in it i would do like 6-8 hours a day working on it for weeks just cleaning it and what not.

I always like to learn from accidents. If you don't mind me asking, was it a single vehicle accident?

This one happened near me last year: http://www.twincities.com/localnews/ci_ ... e-accident

It was a single vehicle accident. In the end, it was determined it was all driver error; he wasn't an experience motorcyclist. He also died just 50' from his house. :(

thank you guys. and from what i hear it was a scrap metal coil that had fell off the back of a truck and either hit and bounced off the ground and up through the fairing and gauges. knocked him right off

oh most definitely i've been foolish riding it already just around where i live due to the tires being dry rotted a little and no front brakes since they locked up so i plan on ordering rebuild kits for the calipers, and master cylinder then along with some new lines and tires once i get the money saved up which i hope soon since im very anxious about it
