Anyone know if XJ750 front rotors will fit 85 XJ700? I like the look of the slotted disk 8) rather than solid disk. Thanks

nope they will not fit. Center is larger on the 700 also the rotors a a bit concave where as the 700 is a flat rotor. I have both bikes right now and side by side they a quite a bit different.

You can however, take your solid discs to a machine shop and have them drilled. Slots may be a little harder to do but straight drills are not. Measure the pattern on a same size disc and copy it. This is important because the pattern has been factory designed to minimize stress risers.

There are quite a few downloadable patterns floating around the internet for drilling your own discs.

As Blue says you need to look at strength when doing it. The other factor is hole overlap. Hard to explain but every line of holes should have another hole in a different line that overlaps the gaps between the holes. Otherwise you end up with grooves in the pads which puts grooves in the rotors.
