I have been having issues with hot restarts and have found everything normal except for the coil packs. When the bike is cold I am reading a little over 9 ohms on each primary side. After the bike is warmed up I am getting about 2.5 ohms which falls in the acceptable range. The secondary sides both fall under the acceptable range when hot and cold. Does this sound like an issue to anyone?

Is it normal for the resistance to drop when heated? I've never really had to deal with coils and am somewhat uneducated about them.

I'm not the best on that stuff either.... but i do know if either primary OR secondary is out of spec, replace.

Difference was like night + day on my bike....

If anything, when the coil heats up the resistance should increase. Like jmilliken said, you should probably just go ahead and replace them.

I thought the resistance would increase also. When I get home from classes this afternoon I'll double check the resistance. Where is a good supplier of the dynacoils?

Chacal carries them along with special mounting hardware to make them fit without interfering with the tank and stuff on your bike. Check out the link for his catalog at the top of every page

just do yourself a favor.... dont get the "dynacoil plug wire + boots" (Len's part # HCP4014 black plug wire set) The boots are super cheap.... I will end up spending money for different boots because they keep coming off when I was pulling the plugs in + out doing tuning +plug chops....

Also, i had to make a change from non-resistor to resistor plugs because of no resistors being in the caps....
