    Hi everyone,
Is there a switch or sensor on the hand brake to activate the stop light? If so, could someone please tell me what it looks like and where it goes? Better yet, a picture will be wonderful.
    Thanks!

When you squeeze the front brake lever, a gap is created releasing the brown plug nipple in the center of picture shown above. Once this brown nipple is out a certain distance it completes the wiring circuit triggering the brake light to come on.

If you have rubber boots covering part of your hand levers, this switch may be hidden. It should be located near the right hand lever if your bike is stock.

Moellear, thanks so much for your quick response! and where will the other + - ends connect to? is it somewhere on the frame or to the headlight bowl?

Anyone have a spare one to sell?

    Thanks everyone!

BTW, I do not have the rubber boot. Bought the bike as is so I am not even sure the brake lever is oem... I think it is likely oem because all other switches and knobs on the right control/handle look oem.

TN52, Yes the brown and green bullet connectors feed into the headlamp shell and then to the wiring loom. Look for the female connections with the same colours inside the headlamp shell.

Can you let us know what bike you have or post a pic of the front end, then we may be able to advise further?

I'd look for a new one, they aren't too expensive, and they tend to break when you take them out....

i have a question about this also, not to hijack the thread, but a buddy just dropped my bike on its front right side, and after the rear brake light works with pedal, but hand brake stopped triggering brake light. could i have smashed that little thing under the boot? or does anybody think it might be a/the connection in the headlight shell, as that also took some damage? everything else seems to still work other than that.

    sorry to semi-hijack :(

FYI: Non stock replacement master cylinders and levers probably don't have the switch or switch holder. Mine doesn't but I'm going to put a stock one on eventually.

Ok, my bike have some kind of lower bars so the PO installed a different MC and brake lever. Maybe that the reason it did not have the brake switch. Is there a universal type of switch that I can install to bring back this feature? I don't like to go back to the oem bars. Thanks
