I've searched the forums and still had some Questions.... How do I get to the master cylinder on my 1981 750 Seca? Do I have to remove the head light or just the fog lamp? Also, does anyone have a "how to" on this master cylinder rebuild? Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry pal, it's best to pull the headlight as well. Free up as much space as you can, the lower line is a metal line and not given to flexibility. I struggled with mine too. Rebuild follows the same generalities as any other type of master cylinder. Sorry to be a wet blanket. For refilling my assembled unit, I used a new hypodermic syringe and a length of new clear vinyl tube.

Great idea for the refill.... question how do i remove the head light assy? I unbolted it dron the sides and had NO PLAY with the wires to pull it out and look behind it. Do I need to take the lense and out first and disconnect some wire plugs?

remove the headlight first(a screw on each side of the headlight at the bottom of the shell), unplug it, you can then unbolt the shell assembly.
Work on the master cylinder is much easier if you also unbolt the fog lamp and move it to the side(wiring still attached). It is a bit difficult to remove the master cylinder but hardly impossible. I found when doing mine it takes patience and a wee bit if lateral force to move it away from the frame.
Do you have a Haynes manual? Rebuild kits are available from the dealer.
Thought I would need one but a thorough cleaning, cable adjustment, and brake bleeding worked for me.

No manual.... I like to wing it  And then break something else and have to replace double the parts, or so it seems at times!!

Seriously, thank you for the insite!! I'm hopeing a kit isn't needed and just a thorough cleaning and bleedingis needed!

Say, while I'm thinking of it where is the return port (the one that is always talked about) located?

The return port I think you are referring to is located inside the bore of the cylinder and exits into the reservoir. It appears to be a small chamfered hole in the floor of the reservior.

Remove MC cover. Apply brakes quickly and firmly. Release quickly. The spurt that hits you in the eye is from the return port.

If there is no spurt the return port is the one that is clogged.

Thanks guys got it off last night..... all parts cleaned up except master!! Not sure how to remove rubber boot at base of piston & connecting arm? I'm sure the smart ass answer will be "carefully"...... but really......

Good thing I disconnected all the wires and removed head light.... found a couple wires in need of repair!! Figured while I'm at it I'll clean all contacts and dielectric grease each contact!

Might want to source a replacement in advance, every one that I have pulled has been heavily corroded and/or torn.
