Hey guys so I have a bobbed out 82 xj650 and I'm in need of a new motor well I'm a firm believer of the go big or go home rule so I wanna know if I can just swap in one of the bigger motors like the 1100 and what I would have to do to make it possible. I would like to know what motors and what yrs I can get away with. And if I can't go with anything bigger than my 650 then I would also like to know what yr of motor I can use. P.s. if any of u have a motor that runs great then lemme know also thanx

    The XJ750 might fit

    (not mine)

You would need to take measurements to be sure. I do not know if the TCI would need to be swapped. Your 650 carbs should also work but may need re-jetting.

but the 1100 is a no go

Go to the top of the forums and find Len Chacal's information overload hour. There is a lengthy write-up on what engines will swap with what, and what you will need to to for that swap.

That will answer all your questions.
