Imagine a 17 year old full of P**s and attitude tearing up to Traffic Lights[Signals in the US?]on his Yamaha 250 DS7.Haul on the brakes and a blip of the throttle just to let everyone know I'm here. Then looking down to my left theres a Guy in His family car complete with His wife and two kids. For a moment we both look each other straight in the Eyes, the lights change and I'm gone in a cloud of blue smoke.
Wind on a few years and its me at the same Traffic lights in his car, complete with wife and kids, when a young man barrels up on his Kawasaki, stops, guns his engine, and looks down at me for a second, then shoots off on his GPZ 900.
Fast forward to today,I'm out on the XJ bimbling about, its taking me where it wants to.Up to Those lights, slow to a stop,a quick blip on the throttle and it settles down to that trademark XJ tickover. The lights are slooow nowadays so i look down to my side, and sure enough theres a car with a thirty something in it complete with His family, our eyes meet,he then takes a long look at me wondering why the Biker has the biggest idiot grin on his face.

Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

my wife thinks its hilarious when we do that. Especially when the other vehicle is a chipped out diesel who thinks its fun to roll coal and burn up all of daddy's money on fuel. Oh and btw either traffic signal or traffic light is acceptable. Traffic light being more common in my neck of the woods.

Funny......my best friend and I get together a lot, we talk on the phone almost every night.

A couple years ago when our families were together for a cook-out, we were doing the usual goof-off stuff-- His wife said to my wife, "Are those two EVER gonna grow up!?!?!" My wife replied, "Naah, they're just gonna grow older". To which, he and I ended up in tears laughing so hard.

A few years ago, when I was a cub scout leader, one of my boys gave me a pin that said "Oh gosh, I forgot to grow up!"
I wear that pin with pride
