Simple Green is my favourite - cuts through grease & oil right quick, and it's even bio-degradeable.

Sorry, there is no free ride. Get out the toothbrush and get to it. Of course you can just hose it off and have some of the dust clear off but you'll need to get in there if you want the grease and goo removed.

I used Gunk the other day. It cleans a lot, but you still gotta scrub the tough stuff.

I had a similiar issue with cleaning off excess oil off the lower half of the engine. I found some stuff called Blackhawk......it is basically an amonia of some kind, but it sure did the trick!

+1! I use it on nearly everything, even my BMW. It cleans brake dust like crazy, and with a little scrubbing, it cleans engines to like new. Plus is biodegradable, and smells good!

I used Simple Green today in the concentrated formula and it worked great! No scrubbing! Just sparyed it on and let it sit for a minute or two and hosed it off. I only had loose oil on the engine so heavy gunky stuff would have to be scrubbed off I'm sure.

Simple Green, Mean Green or S-100 (kinda expensive)... A nylon brush with longish bristles helps with the stubborn spots.
