Did I pick up the right spark plugs?

I went to get new plugs for the bike.. They gave me the NGK DR8ES-L plugs instead of the D8EA plug that was in there. I didn't realize the mistake until I got home. From what I'm reading the DR8ES-L replaced the D8EA? Is this correct?

On the plug itself it reads NGK with an R underneath it. Which I assume to be resitor plug. and on the other side reads DR8ES-L

Yes the problem is if you run resistor plugs you need to change your plug caps to Non resistor caps. Resistor plugs and resistor caps together decrease the strength of the spark and can cause poor starting and running.

Well that's no fun. Looks like I'll be returning them for some D8EA plugs.

On the off chance they don't have the right NGK plugs is there any other plugs to run? I see Denso x24ES-U is also in my manual as an optional plug but was wondering if anything else in a bosh or something?

    I wouldn't re-engineer my ignition system either.

AutoZone carries the D8EA; but sometimes they can't find them in their computer if you tell them "NGK." I go through that every time I pick up a set. Other than at AZ they are pretty widely available though.

    Good luck finding those Densos.

Ended up swinging over to pep boys before work. They took back the old plugs No questions and hooked me up with the ones I needed. $2.49 a plug. Can't beat that! Gapped and threw them in. Something is fishing on number 4. It was very dark/sooty. Will look into that after vac sync. I'm guessing something in the enrichment circuit as the plug chop at load should no signs of carbon.
