Tank interchange with XS400RJ?

    Howdy all -

    This came into the shop last week, guy's looking for another tank as this one's a goner.

    Due to the bike being awfully rare, i was wondering what other tanks would fit on the bike with no major mounting modifications.

    Or, if you knew of anyone who has one that they're willing to part with, that would work too.

    There is nothing aside from a Maxim 400 tank that will fit, and even then I don't believe the side panels would line up for mounting.
    These tanks are rarer than rocking horse poop and I've seen ones on ebay in the same or worse condition go for about $100.
    I'd advise patching the holes as best you can and get a motorcycle kit of Caswell tank liner. It's a 2 part epoxy that hardens like glass and is impervious to fuel once it's cured (24hours).
