    Hello. I have a 1985 XJ 700n that I recently purchased. It needs a little love to bring it back to tip top shape. I am not terribly experienced with mechanics, but feel confident that I can take care of the basic stuff. I have been inspecting my bike and have noticed large cracks on the rubber hose unit connecting the carburetor to the engine. Forgive me for my ignorance, but what are these called? I think I need to replace them but the service manual doesn't tell me what they are. So I can't even search for them. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thank you.

    Typically called carb boots. You can temp fix them or just buy new. Chacal will have them
